A fusion of a sensuous nightclub, state-of-the-art live performance space, and high-end lounge, The Shrine is a next generation nightlife venue which opened June 2009 in the emerging South Loop district of Chicago. The Shrine takes its name from the personal nightclub of Fela Kuti, the legendary Nigerian musician/human rights activist and creator of Afrobeat. With a finger on the pulse of Chicago’s young metropolitans, The Shrine brings together the city’s music, fashion, and art communities to create a truly diverse, trendsetting clientele. The Shrine’s mission is to be the city’s new social hub for music across an eclectic cross-section of modern genres.
